The Rescue Squad’s our special guest again tonight speaking to us about the Christmas Parade (December 6) and encouraging all businesses and churches to get involved.  There will be a grand prize for the best entry in the parade and want local business to donate gift certificates and gifts for the prize. There will not be any candy thrown from the floats or cars in the parade.  The rescue squad has plenty of candy they will be handing out to the kids.  There was talk of getting Rex Barnes’s horse and carriage to carry Santa in the parade.  The rescue squad said we could use their little house for Santa to use on the square or the vacant lot.  There will be a tree lighting ceremony.

Holiday Open House November 2, 2008: The businesses that will be participating will be open from 1-4 on the Sunday.  A grand prize will be given, and to be eligible you must have visited every business and had your card stamped by every business. You do not have to be present to win; the winner will be posted in all the business that participated.  Talked a lot about how to get people back into our businesses after the contest.

Holiday in Haywood November 14, 15, & 16. We have space for 30 booths. This is the biggest day for the pre-holiday shopping.

We went around the room and everyone told their names and what their business is.
