Reminder to complete
membership applications
Sonia Outlaw-Clark, Holly
Haak, Kay Kirkland, Darlene Knox & Ann Gardner all volunteered to work on
the design for the banners. We
plan to start hanging the banners on the utility poles from the interstate on
Anderson all the way into downtown, hoping this will bring new traffic into the
downtown business area. The life
expectancy is up to 3 years for the banners. We want businesses to commit for 2-3 years on the
banners. Regulation of height placement
on the poles was brought up and need to check with utility department to see if
there are any regulations on them.
The banners are going to have Welcome to Brownsville at the top and a
business at the bottom. The
banners will measure 30 X 60.
The Brownsville Business
Association Bylaws were handed out and need to be read over by everyone. People absent from the meeting will
receive it in the mail. At the
next meeting the bylaws will be read and discussed and then voted on.
The have new nametags for
the BBA meetings. Please pick them
up on your way in to the meeting when you sign in and leave them on your way
out.
All the members in
attendance told everyone a little bit about their businesses. It was very interesting and
informative. Joyce Moore reminded everyone about the Fall Fest October 18,
2008. Relay for Life fundraisers Lil Ms Hatchie April 26th

on the square.
Special plaques of
recognition were given to outgoing board members, Tim Stokely, Betty Morris,

Mission Statement. Meeting
